we both got some great shots, I just haven't had the time to get them ready...work & school is dominating for the next few days, especially since I took so much time for 2 hikes during the 60-70 degree weather...
but I'm glad I did because now it's below 30 and snowing again

this should be our last big snowfall for the season wrap up

anyways, we were lucky to walk with a group of 9 deer yesterday...it was so cool

and we both took some close ups of the yucca palnts that are dried from winter,
we thought some people may not have ever seen them like this, yucca is not as plentiful everywhere

Those are beautiful vids, thanks for posting. I love to watch birds and have a feeder and a thistle sock outside my bedroom window, where many birds visit. My favorite visitors so far are a lesser Goldfinch family. They are tiny little black and gold things and prefer to eat thistle while hanging upside down.

About 6000 ft. They said Monarch was at 11,000 ft. which is probably about as high as I've ever been so far without an airplane.

Getting used to it slowly. Had to learn how to breathe less shallowly.

I'm still a smoker. No doubt that's a factor but my shallow breathing habits come from living most of my life at at sea level where the air is thicker. Non-smokers report having similar symptoms when moving from sea level to higher elevations. When I get out of breath climbing I have to take deeper breaths. There's less oxygen in this thinner atmosphere so I have to circulate more air through my lungs more rapidly than before. Blood also must circulate more rapidly to get the same amount of oxygen transport. Slowly I'm getting used to it. I've always liked walking so I've been doing a lot of that. The hills are also a lot steeper here lol

I still haven't skied yet, just snowboarding. We got quite a bit of snow yesterday so it should extend the sking season and maybe we'll still have a chance to go.

Got another inch last night but it's melted already. Today it's warm and melting but still blowing a little snow out of the clouds from the West. Hopefully this will mean more wildflowers this Spring. So far we haven't seen much new green growth but it's been starting to pop out a little in the past week or two.

the trees are starting to bud here. the grass is going from brown to green, but it's still really cold. i've noticed a few of the earlier bulbs are starting to pop up already too
